We’ve all probably seen or heard of the rather gut-wrenching reception of OnePlus’ first swing at the whole smartwatch segment of the market, the OnePlus Watch.

This smartwatch made a bunch of bold claims but one that really hurt its prospects is the company’s decision to go for its own in-house RTOS instead of the smart, and industry-standard, Google-made Wear OS

We have summarized some of the feedback from the industry’s top publications on the OnePlus Watch and you can check that out in our coverage of the same here.

That said, we’re still talking about OnePlus here, an enthusiast brand that has built its entire business around the community. This product is, therefore, bound to get better right?

Well, OnePlus has already shared a list of features that are set to come to the OnePlus Watch in future updates. You can check those out in our coverage here.

Along with improvements to the Watch’s system UI, fixing issues, and improving system stability, this update brings a feature that should have been present in OnePlus Watch from the beginning, Always-on Display.

The full changelog for the OnePlus Watch B.48 update is as follows:

In the release notes, OnePlus notes that this Always-on Display feature being enabled will lead to a dip in the Watch’s battery consumption, one of the key selling points of the OnePlus Watch from the beginning.

The statement also goes on to assure users that OnePlus is committed to this product and that the company plans to continuously optimize the software and experience.

We look forward to hearing your continued feedback in the comments below. In addition to OTA updates mentioned above, we will continue to work on software optimization to further improve the OnePlus Watch. Again, your suggestions and bug reports matter so much to us.
