With the release of the OnePlus 7 Pro, the Chinese OEM finally declared competition against mainstream camera oriented flagships, such as the P series from Huawei or the Google Pixel lineup.

Before you are going to smash me, I know that the numbers are mostly useless in real life scenarios. Google’s Pixel Visual Core or Huawei’s AI powered image processing give them a huge extra mileage compared to the OnePlus 7 Pro in computational photography.

Nevertheless, OnePlus team is dedicated towards the camera department. They have already rolled out a number of OTA updates with truckload of camera related fixes, new features and improvements based on user feedback.

OnePlus opted for a triple rear camera setup for the Pro (including 5G model) variant of the OnePlus 7. Besides the regular 48 MP Sony IMX586 sensor, OnePlus 7 Pro sports a 8 MP telephoto and a 16 MP ultrawide lens.

While it is possible to switch to the ultrawide lens to capture a wider point of view while clicking pictures, you can’t do the same while recording videos using the stock OnePlus camera app.

Well well well, time for another surprise! The OEM is now gathering user feedback on the topic “Wide angle for video or not?”. OnePlus staff member Crystal Z. has announced the following:

Some of you on the forums have been requesting this feature, so we look forward to having more feedback from the Community. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below. We’ll forward the feedback to the product team for sure.

The survey itself is pretty much compact though; you need to answer just two questions and an optional feedback.
