OnePlus prides itself in being one of the most consumer-facing brands in the market today. This is for the most part fueled by the kind of community surrounding this brand.

The OnePlus community has grown to become the primary platform for engagement between the company and its device owners, a medium for disseminating new info, and a forum that offers solutions to users.

At the heart of this engagement and community is the OnePlus Account, a OnePlus user’s passport to all things OnePlus with perks such as access to the Red Cable Club.

It can, therefore, get really frustrating when users get locked out of their OnePlus Accounts for whatever reason as they will also miss out on access to the forums.

This is the situation that users of the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are finding themselves in, following the recent OxygenOS 10.3.7 update.

To recall, we’ve recently looked at yet another issue that was brought about by this OxygenOS 10.3.7 update to the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. Users of these devices are reportedly facing a “OnePlus Membership keeps stopping” issue on their devices, more on that here.

As it turns out, the said update did break something else as well because now, a section of these device owners are reporting not being able to log into the Red Cable Club app.

In some cases, users are reporting no longer being able to install the Red Cable Club app on their OnePlus 6/6T devices following this update as the Play Store says their devices aren’t compatible.

Many of these users (1,2,3,4) are simply unable to open the Red Cable Club app on their OnePlus 6/6T devices and those that are lucky to have the app launch are unable to register their numbers.

There have also been reports of this issue from users of other OnePlus devices such as the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro.

I bought new 7t device in last month. I tried to login into Red Cable Club but its showing some error that this device link to another account. Is there anyone knows how to resolve this issue.

One of the workarounds for getting access to the Red Cable Club is via the Settings app. However, doing this seems to throw up the same error.

That said, there is a possible workaround for this Red Cable Club and Account issue on OnePlus 6/6T devices. According to a user on the forum, this could help:

Do a search in Settings for OnePlus Membership and then OnePlus Account. Once you find each try the following.

1) OnePlus Membership ( uninstall the update)
2) OnePlus Account.
Clear the cache and storage of both app and reboot your device.
