Netflix users are reporting that the ‘Japanese audio’ option for the One Piece live-action series is missing or not available.

This revelation left several loyal fans feeling disheartened and frustrated. But why the fuss over the ‘Japanese’ audio track?

The ‘Japanese’ audio track is not just any ordinary dub.

It’s the embodiment of authenticity, a rendition of the characters’ voices by the iconic anime voice-over artists who have given life to these beloved characters in the animated series for decades.

For fans, this audio track represents a connection to the roots of the ‘One Piece’ universe, a way to experience the live-action adaptation while still retaining the genuine anime feel they have grown to love over the years.

Is there a way to watch the live action with Japanese dub? since they’re using the same voice actors, I thought it could be cool to watch it that way.

For some the ‘Japanese audio’ option is missing only on the first episode while rest of the episodes have it. This has left some confused as to why this happens (1,2).

Potential workaround

Well don’t worry. there’s a workaround, and it involves making a slight adjustment to your Netflix profile settings. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Step 1: Go to Manage Profiles
Step 2: Select the Profile You Want to Edit
Step 3: Tap on ‘Audio and Subtitles’
Step 4: In the ‘Audio and Subtitles’ section, you’ll see a list of available languages and audio tracks. Scroll through the list until you find ‘Japanese.’
Step 5: Click on it to select it as the preferred audio option for this profile.
