Nokia is one of the brands, that is quite popular when it comes to the pushing of security and firmware updates. We have previously covered articles for various Nokia smartphones that, have received either security or enhancement updates.

Moreover, the first Nokia device to get the Android 10 update is the Nokia 8.1. It is clear from the fact that Nokia has taken the top position given to it under the top 10 manufacturers to upgrade their portfolios to the latest Android versions by Counterpoint Research

Taking this further, Nokia has rolled out the latest October security patch for 5 of its smartphones i.e. Nokia 9 Pureview, Nokia 7.1, Nokia 6.1, Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7 Plus. Let us take a look at the update in detail for all the specific devices, one-by-one:

Nokia 9 Pureview

Probably, Nokia 9 Pureview is the only smartphone that houses a Penta-camera setup that takes smartphone photography to the next level. It was launched in February 2019 and reportedly, the device has started receiving the October security patch. The latest update weighs in around 65.4MB in size and won’t be too heavy for downloading via your mobile data connection.

Nokia 7 Plus

The Nokia 7 Plus is also one of the devices that are receiving the October security patch. Note that the device was launched in 2018. Nokia 7 Plus was one of the best mid-range offerings by the brand in 2018 and still is considered good.

Nokia 7.1

Nokia 7.1 is yet another device in the list to get updated to the latest October 2019 patch. The Nokia 7.1 is a powerful mid-range device that features Snapdragon 636 chipset. 

The size of the latest incremental security update is around 70.4MB. Below are the screenshot and the image of the update:

Nokia 6.1 Plus

The Nokia 6.1 Plus device which is another 2018 device, is also receiving the latest October patch. The update is small in size weighing around 70.3MB because it is incremental in nature.

Nokia 6.1

Last but not least, is the Nokia 6.1 smartphone that is receiving the October security update. Talking about the device, it was launched in 2018 and is powered by the Snapdragon 630 chipset which is paired with 3/4GB of RAM. 

The latest update weighs 84.9MB in size and can be easily downloaded via mobile data connection as it is not heavy in size. Below is the official changelog and the screenshot of the update:

Apart from the security update, all the respective updates mentioned above do not bring in any new features or enhancements for the devices. 

Note that the updates are rolling out in batches and will take some time to reach all the devices. However, you can always head to  Settings>>System>>System Updates to check for the update manually. Happy Installing!
