Nokia has rolled out several security updates for its smartphones in the previous months.

It seems that Nokia is trying its best to maintain the top position for rolling out the updates as, according to Counterpoint Research, Nokia was ranked No.1  in the list of time taken by the top 10 manufacturers to upgrade their portfolios to the latest Android version.

Moreover, software updates are one of the most important things expected by the user out of a smartphone brand. And it has been quite some time since Nokia gained the lead with 96% of Nokia smartphones sold after Q3 2018 (till Q2 2019) already running Android 9 Pie operating system.

Now, this is a new path that the company is heading onto after its revival by HMD Global. Besides, the company has been on a roll since they started developing smartphones powered by Android.

We have also previously covered posts for various Nokia devices receiving the latest security updates being pushed out timely. For instance, we recently covered that the Nokia 8, Nokia 6 (2017) and Nokia 5 have received the September update.

Nokia 7.2, 5.1 and 3.1 were also not behind in receiving the latest September Android security updates. Adding to it, the Nokia 1 and 2 also have started to receive the September 2019 security update.

Talking about the update received on the Nokia 1, it only brings in the security update for the device and nothing new. However, the update is quite interesting as with this update, the Nokia 1 skips the August update. Moreover, the update is 78.8MB in size.

Below is the official changelog and the screenshot for the update received on the Nokia 1:

Note that there are two versions of the Nokia 2 i.e. the one running on Android Oreo and the other on Android Nougat. Notable both the devices now have the September security patch.

Apart from the security update, all the respective updates mentioned above do not bring in any new features or enhancements for the devices.

Note that the updates are rolling out in batches and will take some time to reach all the devices. However, you can always head to  Settings>>System>>System Updates to check for the update manually. Happy Installing!
