Original story (published on November 02, 2021) follows:

The LG C1 lineup is one of the most popular TV product lineups by the South Korean electronic giant. All TVs in the series feature an OLED screen with 4K resolution and several screen sizes starting at 48 inches.

The lineup was introduced in 2021 with the display frequency cranking up to 120Hz paired with 40W speakers. It is on par with the GX series in terms of performance.

Having said that, those living in Europe often pair it with the Sky Q box provided by the television provider Sky. The service had garnered more than 3.6 million customers by the end of 2018, which is quite an impressive feat.

However, some LG C1 TV owners are now reporting that they are experiencing issues with UHD when using a Sky Q box. They say that Sky Q keeps flashing or gives them an error message stating that the “input on the TV doesn’t support Ultra HD.”

LG C1 owners say they have tried turning the TV and Sky Q box on and off, using a combination of different cables and sports but nothing seems to fix the issue.

I have the exact same issue as you guys. Brand new c1 two days ago and no ultra hd. Been on the phone to sky for an hour today and they have no idea either. I’m glad it’s not just me. Just a bit disheartening when you spend for the latest tech! @AsterixTG

Hi , just set up my new LG oled tv and sky Q keeps flashing on for a second and off for 3 seconds, PS4 works perfectly , tried changing HDMI leads and different sockets any help please driving me mad

I’ve had the exact same issue as others on this thread and I’m afraid to say. Nothing has changed since the first problem was discovered, I phoned sky last night as my first port of call and they were back to saying they are unaware of the problem! I then directed him to the many threads on this particular problem and he had to admit it did look like something wasn’t working but he couldn’t offer any help. Anything to do with LG is closed on a Sunday so can’t get intouch with them today either. What a nightmare, with no answers in sight it would seem

Users say that the issue is because of a handshake issue with HDCP 2.2. Since apps and services like Netflix and Amazon Prime are still using HDCP 1.4, the issue does not affect those trying to watch content in UHD.

Some are also saying that the issue is affecting the recent batch of LG C1 TVs. Fortunately, LG UK Customer Care has acknowledged the LG C1 Sky Q UHD issue and said that it will be fixed in an update that will be available on November 17.

Hi Darren! We have been informed that a fix should be coming on 17/11/2021. If after you have installed this the issue continues, please let us know and we will raise this. Brooke – LGUK
