Less than a week ago, OnePlus set a stunning new record by rolling out August security patches for the mighty OnePlus 7 Pro in the form of OxygenOS 9.5.11. It is worth mentioning that the Chinese OEM successfully beat Google as well as Essential in this context.

Pretty interesting, isn’t it?

Thanks to a tipster, we came to know that OnePlus successfully integrated the August patches in their internal test builds back in July. While the news is nothing new as OEMs get the access to these patches long before, getting the OTA even before arrival of the month is certainly adventurous!

Call it a coincidence, but OnePlus is not the only company to distribute August patches before Google. Huawei P20 Pro, which got EMUI 9.1 update with July security patch a few days ago, also started to receive August patch in some regions.

Well well well, the regular variant of OnePlus 7 becomes the newest member in this roster. Both the global/Indian and European OnePlus 7 units are now getting OxygenOS 9.5.8 as a moderate incremental OTA over OxygenOS 9.5.7.

Our readers should easily spot the resemblance between this changelog and that of OnePlus 7 Pro. Apart from August security patch, both phones now have an updated Google Mobile Services module and fixes related to adaptive brightness as well as accidental touches.

The stock camera version is also bumped to 3.4.25, similar to OnePlus 7 Pro. OnePlus’ Manu J. was rather quick this time, as he already announced the official changelog in the forum:

System

– Optimized Adaptive Brightness

– Fixed the issue with quick settings menu dropping down due to accidental touches, while on a call

– Updated GMS to 2019.06

– Updated Android security patch to 2019.08

– General bug fixes and improvements

Due to the staged rollout, we and the Oxygen Updater team have yet to capture the full update packages. The incremental OTA zips are listed below for the time being, Remember, you need to have an untouched 9.0.7 installation to apply them.
