New Amazon Fire TV UI update coming to Fire TV Smart TVs & Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen) later this year

Amazon’s Fire TV products offer users with ‘dumb’ TVs an easy and inexpensive way to get smart features on their TV sets.

With this, they can take advantage of all the connected features and content streaming options that are available on smart TVs, all without that much fuss.

In a bid to enhance the user interface and streamline the user experience, we have seen Amazon TV team pushing an update to various Fire TV products, an update that drastically overhauls the experience.

This update has been met with acclaim and criticism from various quarters and opinion on the community forums seems to be sharply split.

So the new Fire TV update is rolling out for several Fire TV Stick products. However, a concern is looming as users of Fire TV Smart TVs don’t seem to be getting this update,

A scroll through the Fire TV community forums reveals a bunch of concerned users who are getting increasingly irate over their devices not having gotten the said update.

Recently I’ve heard about the interface update that is going to be coming down to older Fire TV decoy this year’s, evryone says what Fire TV devices it will go to, but not if it will go to built-in Fire TVs. Will the insignia Fire TV addition be getting this update?

So what is the status of this update to the Fire TV smart TVs? Well, in the release notes, Amazon says that the Fire TV smart TVs will get updated later this year. However, this report falls short of giving concrete confirmation of the exact dates.

The all-new Fire TV experience is now available on: Fire TV Stick (3rd Gen), Fire TV Stick Lite, Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Cube (1st and 2nd Gen), and Fire TV (3rd Gen Pendant Design). Support for Fire TV Stick (2nd Gen) and Fire TV Smart TVs is coming later this year.
