NBA 2K24 players are reporting that requirements to join affiliations are too high, making it nearly impossible for casual players.

Many players voiced their thoughts and opinions on social media about the issue and demanded changes or its removal.

I am a pass first wing and getting 10 wins to join an affiliation is impossible my average grade is B to B+ but there’s always one person who doesn’t play defense or neither teammates can make a shot to the point where I just stop trying for rebounds like you get punished for being a good teammate (Source)

I mainly play rec and proam with friends but i’ve been trying to join elite and holy shit is it miserable. Park feels horrible compared to proam and rec and it seems like everyone is just jacking shots trying to get the 100 points. I don’t think I’ve ever had a worse time playing 2k. (Source)

2K’s latest basketball simulator, NBA 2K24, has faced significant criticism since its release, and a new serious issue has emerged.

According to players, in order to join an affiliation, they need to achieve at least 10 wins or accumulate 100 points or assists. This requirement is deemed excessively high for casual players.

Many players have complained about the grindy and tedious process (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) required to earn the necessary points or wins.

They argue that unlocking such a basic feature in the MyCareer mode should not be such an arduous task.

Why the requirements are so high join affiliations in NBA 2K24?

NBA 2K24 has faced accusations of deliberately incorporating grinding elements.

Previously, players reported that 2K had made various aspects of the game, including the shooting system, highly unpredictable and grind-oriented.

Some players speculated that this was intended to push players towards spending real money to access basic game features.

Even the high affiliation requirements might serve as motivation for microtransactions, according to players:

You buy a $70 game and it is literally impossible to have a fun experience at the park without spending money. They make the grind so hard, boring and long that nobody has any fun doing it. And if you end up making a bad build, you’re SCREWED and gotta do it all over again. (Source)

The developers have not issued any official statements on these issues, and these theories are based solely on player speculations.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update if there are any further developments.
