[Updated] Navy Federal Credit Union app crashing on iOS devices, issue acknowledged (potential workaround inside)

Based out of Vienna, Virginia, Navy Federal Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in the United States. As of 2022, the not-for-profit company has more than 11.6 million members and 350 branches worldwide.

More than 70% of its members make use of the website and the mobile app to transfer funds and perform day to day transactions.

Recently, the Navy Federal Credit Union announced it will be changing its name to ‘Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, Space Force, Veterans and Their Families Federal Credit Union’.

But in the last few hours, many Navy Federal Credit Union customers reported that the iOS app is crashing. Users say they are unable to transfer funds and complete transaction because of the problem.

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – also had a massive spike in the number of reports that indicated users are having problems with the Navy Federal Credit Union app.

Many are expressing their frustration on social media platforms like Twitter (1,2,3,4,5). Here are some reports from Navy Federal Credit Union users complaining about the app crashing issue.

Thankfully, Navy Federal Credit Union developers were quick to comment on the iOS app crashing issue and said they working on a fix. But there is no ETA on when it will be resolved.

The developers also say reinstalling the app might fix the problem, so you might as well give that a try. Alternatively, if you need to transfer funds or perform a quick transaction, the website seems to be working just fine.

We hope they soon find the root cause of the problem and push an update that fixes the app crashing issue on iOS.

09:45 am (IST): The issue where the app was constantly crashing appears to have been fixed as reports about the problem have dried up. Furthermore, a user also confirmed that the issue was resolved for them.

09:56 am (IST): Recent reports indicate that the Navy Federal Credit Union app is down or not working due to an outage (1, 2, 3).

05:45 pm (IST): The Navy Federal Credit Union app is now working properly as the outage has been resolved.

11:06 am (IST): Navy Federal services are currently down as per some reports (1,2).

06:45 pm (IST): The issue where the servers were down, appears to have been fixed.
