NASCAR Heat 5 is one of the popular names in the racing video game genre. One can play this game on a Windows machine or PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

However, like any other popular game, NASCAR Heat 5 also has its fair share of bugs and issues. If you are experiencing issues while playing it in multiplayer mode, then you are not alone.

NASCAR Heat 5 online multiplayer issues

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple players are experiencing issues while trying to join a race in the multiplayer game mode. Allegedly, one gets an ‘authentication failed’ error message while trying to do so.

Some also claimed that they had been experiencing lag while racing before the servers were completely shut down. The issue has been persistent for the past few days and mostly affects Xbox console owners.

The game has been unplayable in multiplayer mode for the past few days. Another gamer alleges that their game crashes as soon as they load up their in-game career without any error.

Some have even tried clearing the cache, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, and factory resetting their consoles, but to no avail.

Official acknowledgment

The NASCAR Heat support team on Twitter has officially acknowledged the issue and is working on fixing it. However, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

Potential workaround

Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help solve the problem for some Xbox console owners.

It is recommended that you perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps mentioned below.

Having said that, we’ll keep tabs on the issues facing NASCAR Heat 5 players in multiplayer game mode and update the article accordingly.

Update 1 (March 17, 2023)

01:46 pm (IST): In the recent status update, NASCAR Heat support confirmed that they are working with their partners to resolve this issue as soon as possible. However, there’s still no ETA for the fix.
