Update 1 (November 16, 2023)

01:35 P.M. (IST): The latest patch has updated the status of these issues, according to the official trello board these are the current status of the mentioned issues:

  1. Missions in Act 2 do not automatically queue: Fix released on all platforms.
  2. Players can fall from the exfil helicopter: Fix scheduled for all platforms.

Some players are reporting that following the latest patch, some issues with Story Mission Exfils have surfaced. This issue is under ‘investigation’ and the team is working on a fix.

Original story follows:

Call of Duty: MWIII players are reporting various issues with the game’s zombie mode. According to these players, the exfil chopper at the extraction points in MWIII Zombies are not appearing and are occasionally glitching out. However, that’s not the only problem; purportedly, Act 2 missions aren’t automatically queuing and instead keep loading into Act 1.

Call of Duty: MWIII Zombies Exfil Chopper Issues

Exfil, an abbreviation for exfiltration, is a feature in Call of Duty games that enables players to escape from a game mode at their discretion. It was initially introduced in Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and later appeared in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombie.

The feature is also present in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 remake. Nevertheless, according to reports, there are multiple issues with the feature in Zombies mode. Allegedly, the chopper that should pick up the players and take them out of the mode doesn’t appear at times.

Even when the chopper shows up, several reports claim that, after boarding, players fall off mid-flight, causing numerous issues and nearly making it impossible to exit the mode.

But that’s not all; players are also reporting that, after clearing the extraction point and boarding the chopper, the game crashes in some instances. Despite numerous reports, there hasn’t been any official statement from the developers yet.

Act 2 Story Mission Queue Bug Acknowledged

Not only is there an issue with exfil, but many players are also reporting that Act 2 of the story does not queue after the first.

According to multiple reports, players are experiencing problems transitioning from Act 1 to Act 2. The game does not automatically highlight the missions in Act 2. Manually highlighting and completing the missions reportedly ‘consumes’ a significant amount of time.

Some reports even claim that the end mission in Act 1 is repeated continuously, making it impossible to proceed to the next phase of the story.

There are also reports asserting that players eligible for a Story Mission but not participating in the Story Mission Exfil are automatically queued into the story if a different squad initiates it.

Fortunately, this issue has been acknowledged by the developers, and they are currently working on a fix.
