MWIII: Spawn camping & bugs plaguing Vortex mode

Multiple reports are flooding in as players are becoming increasingly frustrated with bugs and spawn camping issues in the newly launched Vortex mode in MWIII. The modern iteration of the classic Call of Duty title has already been under a lot of heat since launch, and this issue is only making things rougher.

Vortex Mode in Modern Warfare 3 is a limited-time mode that was added to the game as part of the Vortex: War’s Domain event. It is a variation of the traditional Free-For-All game mode where a random player spawns with the Zombies Ray Gun on a selection of three special remixed multiplayer maps.

The event runs from January 3 to January 17, 2024, and all event rewards can be found under the Challenges -> Events tab of the main menu.

While the game mode is extremely fun in concept, there are some discrepancies that the devs may have overlooked during the planning phase. The maps of the vortex are designed in such a way that it unintentionally makes it very easy for enemies to spawn camp.

Spawn camping is a cheesy way for players to camp in front of the enemy spawn point and kill them as soon as they revive. This gives little to no time for them to react, resulting in premature deaths.

Vortex Spawning Isn’t Broken At All…

Usually, the maps of online shooters are designed to make spawn camping next to impossible. Unfortunately, the Vortex maps have failed miserably in this regard.

Here are some basic ways to save against spawn camping:

• Utilize smoke grenades: Smoke grenades can help you obscure your position and avoid being spotted by campers. Use them to create a smokescreen and escape the spawn camping area.
• Be aware of your surroundings: Always keep an eye on enemy positions and be cautious when entering new areas or rooms. Knowing the spawn points and camping spots can help you avoid them or counter them effectively.
• Use teamwork: Playing with a team can make it easier to deal with spawn camping and spawn trapping. Coordinate with your teammates to cover each other and create a rotating spawn strategy.

Other than the spawn camping issues, reports are coming in that claim the spawn points in the mode are also bugged.

According to the reports, the spawn point in the Sporeyard has an ongoing bug that prevents the spawning players from moving or taking any action.

Many players are leaving or completely boycotting the mode due to this. Despite this, there hasn’t been any official statement from the devs regarding this issue.
