MWIII players have reported that the game has become unplayable due to an increasing number of exploits, including “under the map” out-of-bounds exploits and other issues. The developers are aware of these issues and are currently investigating them.
MWIII ‘under the map’ exploits allegedly ruining the game
The “under the map” exploit in MW3 allows players to glitch underneath the Sub Base map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. This exploit has been showcased in various YouTube videos and social media posts, demonstrating how to perform the glitch and gain an unfair advantage.

By utilizing this glitch, players can see and shoot through the map, making it difficult for others to eliminate them. There have also been instances of players clipping onto inaccessible areas, mountains, and rooftops further exacerbating the unfairness of the exploit.
The gaming community has heavily criticized this exploit for its unfair nature, as it ruins the gameplay experience for other players.
To perform the “under the map” exploit, players need to follow these steps:
- Select the Sub Base map in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
- Locate the specific corner of the map where the exploit can be triggered.
- Climb on top of a container and place a barricade on the edge of the map.
- Jump through the barricade to glitch underneath the map.
It is crucial for players to be aware that using exploits like this can negatively impact the gameplay experience for others and may be considered cheating, potentially resulting in a ban.
Official acknowledgement
The exploit has predominantly been observed on the Sub Base, Underpass, and Quarry maps.
The developers at Activision are fully aware of the issue and have acknowledged it on their official Trello board, where they track and address known problems.
At present, there is no official release date for a fix; however, it is expected that the developers will soon issue a patch or hotfix to address these exploits and restore fair gameplay.
