MTG Arena has remained a reference in the collectible card game segment for some time, in part thanks to the constant support it receives with updates and new content.

However, new versions do not always bring only good things, since sometimes they are full of issues. For instance, the ‘SNC’ update caused an annoying crashing issue or an ‘Asset error detected’ message.

Now, it seems that a new version is producing a similar situation. More specifically, MTG Arena is crashing again after the ‘Phyrexia: All Will Be One’ update.

MTG Arena keeps crashing after ‘Phyrexia: All Will Be One’ update

According to multiple reports, there is a constant crashing issue occurring randomly in MTG Arena after the ‘Phyrexia: All Will Be One’ update.

The problem can appear at any time and under any circumstances. The reports describe situations such as crashing during the initial loading scene, joining matches, trying to enter the shop, etc.

Crashes at Loading Initial Scene

Every time I try to load the game on my PC, it crashes while at the “Loading Initial Scene” screen. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, updating drivers, resetting computer, and deleting the MTGA file in my AppData folder.

Client crashing when trying to join a match

This is the second day in a row I’ve encountered a bug where my client crashes when I try to join a match, essentially giving me an automatic loss.

Unlike previous occasions where the crashing issue was limited to one platform (such as iOS), this time it seems to be affecting all platforms.

It’s worth pointing out that, apparently, crashes are ‘normal’ after every MTG Arena big update. Therefore, some players hoped that it would be corrected with the passing of the hours.

But unfortunately, reports of crashes continue to surface days later. Furthermore, there is also no official word on the situation yet from the MTG Arena team.

So, there is no ETA for a possible fix yet or workarounds to help resolve or mitigate the glitch.

We will be monitoring the situation to update this story as events unfold in the future.
