New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 17, 2021) follows:

Motorola joined the Android 11 party late but in a short span of time rolled out the update to seven models including the Moto One Hyper.

Unfortunately, Android updates aren’t that straightforward. While the update is out for several devices, it is yet to go live in all regions for any of these models.

We’ve been keeping tabs on the rollout of Android 11 for all Motorola devices in all regions in our dedicated tracker.

That said, it seems that Motorola One Hyper users in Canada won’t have to wait much longer to get the update to Android 11 as TELUS has confirmed that the company will push the new software to the device on April 21.

The carrier also confirmed that it will be rolling out the Android 11 update for the Samsung Galaxy A70 on April 27. More on that here.

Mobile carriers in Canada maintain software update schedules to make it easier for users to know when their devices will get new updates.

If the same was followed by Android device vendors, the world would have been a better place (probably not, or would it?).

While the information was shared on TELUS’ software update schedule, it’s more than likely that the Android update would be available on the same date for Motorola One Hyper models purchased from other carriers.

Nevertheless, now that Android 11 is being rolled out to Motorola devices in various regions around the world, we can expect to see the update go live for other remaining models soon.

Update 1 (April 20)

05:45 pm (IST): It appears that Motorola has started rolling out the Android 11 update for the One Hyper in Canada. The update has popped up for models sold by Bell, TELUS, and the unlocked units.
