Motorola One 5G Ace issue where Bluetooth keeps disconnecting escalated for investigation, confirms mod

The Motorola One 5G is a mid-range smartphone that arrived at the beginning of last year (2021). The device offers good performance, long battery life, and 5G support at a competitive price.

The Motorola One 5G has been running Android 10 OS since launch, pending an update to Android 11. However, it appears that the current version of the software is experiencing a critical Bluetooth connectivity issue.

According to reports, Motorola One 5G Ace users are facing a glitch where Bluetooth is disconnecting automatically in certain usage scenarios.

Apparently, the Motorola One 5G Ace Bluetooth is disconnecting on its own around 30 seconds after starting a phone call through a headset. The headset will be constantly connecting and disconnecting during the call.

The issue in question reportedly occurs only during calls. Bluetooth headsets work fine in other usage scenarios (such as listening to music or watching movies/videos).

Bluetooth Headset Disconnects every 30 seconds while on call

I recently upgraded to the Moto One 5G ACE from my Z2, however I noticed that there is a serious issue with the bluetooth connection. If I’m using a bluetooth headset during a call, it disconnects and then reconnects every 30 seconds while the call is active. There are no disconnects while listening to music/youtube just during calls, and the headset still works just fine for calls on my Z2, so there is some issue with the One 5G Ace.

The ‘Bluetooth disconnecting’ glitch could be directly related to the latest Motorola One 5G Ace Android 10 build, according to reports.

Additionally, the issue affects other usage scenarios such as using a wireless Android Auto adapter. For instance, the MOTOROLA MA1 Android Auto adapter is currently useless for Motorola One 5G Ace users.

Recently acquired the MOTOROLA MA1 wireless Android Auto adapter. Will not work with the Ace 5G, presumably because still on Android 10. Samsung and Google phones still running Android 10 appear to be able to use the device, weird that Motorola would brand this product that won’t even work with their phones.

What happens is the Bluetooth pairing keeps dropping and reconnecting, never connects with the car Infotainment system.

A Lenovo support forum moderator confirmed that the Bluetooth issue will be escalated to the development team. However, the moderator also warns that the development of a fix could be a slow process.
