Mortal Kombat 1 players are reporting two major issues that are plaguing the game. According to the complaints, weekly missions are resetting, and Brutalities are not working in Mortal Kombat 1.

Many players have taken to social media to share their thoughts and hope to find solutions to the issues.

Weekly missions resetting or not progressing in Mortal Kombat 1

Reports flooding in on various social media sites pointed out the issue with the weekly missions:

Is anyone else getting this? Every time I go into another fight, my progress for doing ground moves, uppercuts, and damage resets back to square one and only counts what I do in that match. This has got to be a bug/oversight right? Because they can’t seriously be expecting us to do 50 uppercuts or 10k damage in a single match, right? (Source)

Im trying to do the weekly challenges before they reset later but the progress for some of them keeps resetting. It doesnt say anything about needing to complete them in one fight, and some of them would be impossible anyway (how you gonna land 50 uppercuts in one fight lol). (Source)

NetherRealm’s newly released Mortal Kombat 1 offers players weekly missions that reward various in-game resources upon completion.

However, players are reporting (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) that the weekly missions are resetting every time they enter a match, preventing them from completing them.

Weekly missions have absurdly high conditions. Players have to perform 50 Uppercuts and 50 Ground Moves to complete the missions.

This condition is almost impossible to complete in a single match, making the missions even more challenging due to the constant resetting.

As the complaints piled up, some players have come up with potential workarounds for the issue. One player suggested:

Here’s a workaround for the Ground Attack one:

-Start a V.Easy Tower fight with a Kameo like Frost/Cyrax with a stun.

-Spam D1 because the attacks DO NOT HAVE TO HIT TO COUNT.

-Use all 3 rounds by deliberately losing one if necessary.

-Stun the opponent as much as possible to buy time by not hitting them. (Source)

And for the uppercut mission, they suggested:

-Go to the first node in Nether Stone area (“Flying High”) on the Fengjian Village map (southern side)

-Pick Li Mei

-Respec your stats and go fully into health points

-Start the fight and just keep spamming uppercut (d,2), you can usually get her stuck in the corner for a nice chain

-Count 50 uppercuts and then wait for the timer to run out or beat the fight, once the timer runs out you actually win and it will complete the weekly quest, you can return to map after the secret fight starts (Source)

The official support team has acknowledged the issue on Twitter:

Our team is aware of and investigating this issue, but we’d still appreciate your report to aid our efforts (Source)

But that is not the end. There’s another issue that has been plaguing the players.

Brutalities not working in Mortal Kombat 1

Players say that despite meeting all the requirements to activate a Brutality and pressing the right buttons, their character doesn’t perform it.

Anyone else having trouble with brutalities not working? I u locked one for Rain and no matter what I do it won’t trigger. (Source)

Is anyone else having trouble doing the burn for me brutality with scorpion Also the stop ahead brutality looks a little buggy no way it’s meant to look like that (Source)

The reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) suggest that the brutality inputs are potentially bugged. Despite making all the right inputs, the brutalities don’t trigger.

This issue has been occurring for a while, and the community has been suffering due to it. But on the bright side, the devs have finally acknowledged the issue and it is under investigation.

Till the official fix gets issued, some players have offered potential workarounds. One of them says:

For Reptile it’s the behind you brutality, and even after doing back forward 2 and holding 2 I couldn’t do it. When you do back 2 and hold 2, it then works. For scorpions back forward 4 that may be the fix and for other characters with similar issues(I’m not sure if others have it but if 2 characters do I wouldn’t be surprised if more do), but the scorpion one where you make a circle with the directional inputs, no idea. (Source)

We’ll keep track of the situation and post an update if and when there are any further developments on the matter.
