But it seems that the Friends list is bugged at the moment like various other issues that pop up every now and then (1,2,3).

Reports indicate that players are experiencing this issue ever since the latest update. As a result they are unable to play Co-Op with their friends as the list appears empty.

It’s quite absurd that players can not view their friends when they go to the profile page. Even though the list is empty but when players try sending a friend request to someone, it says that they are already friends.

Anybody have a fix for this? I’m playing on PS5 when I go to see friends under my profile it shows I have none. I attempt to send them a friend request and it says I am friends with the person but it is not showing. Any idea for a fix? Wanting to play some co-op but can’t invite anyone bc showing I have no friends.

Affected players have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, but to no avail.

Potential workarounds

Fortunately, we have come across some workarounds that can help fix this issue. It seems that you can get play the game by sending an invitation through the game Base Menu.

If you’re on PS5 there’s a way you can bypass the bug by inviting your friend through the Game Base menu. You can play 2v2 or 3v3 exhibitions or DD. I haven’t found a way to play against friends though, which fucking sucks ass.

Alternatively, you can try logging out of the PS ID and then logging back in and it does seem to work for some.

You can also try inviting friends via the Game hub.

On PS5, you can invite them from the Game Hub (or whatever the menu is called when you press the middle PS button). That’s the only workaround I’ve found. Super annoying issue tho, agreed

Apart from this, it has also been alleged that the team is aware of the issue where the MLB The Show 23 Friends list is not working.

It’s a known issue since the most recent patch, I’ve had intermittent success by just restarting the game a few times, but it isn’t a surefire solution. hoping for a patch soon

We hope that the team comes up with a permanent solution at the earliest. Meanwhile, you can try the workarounds mentioned above for a potential fix.
