Minecraft has been around on macOS, Linux, and Windows since 2011. The sandbox game has since become available on a bunch of other platforms.

Now, Minecraft players with Mojang accounts are being steadily migrated to Microsoft accounts. However, several players have been facing some issues with Minecraft multiplayer after migrating.

As per multiple reports, the Minecraft multiplayer is not working for players after the Microsoft account migration.

Minecraft players have been reporting that they are unable to join multiplayer games and are getting the ‘Multiplayer is disabled. Please check your microsoft account settings’ message.

Also, they are unable to access the Privacy & online safety settings in their Microsoft account to enable multiplayer access. This further indicates that this issue with Minecraft multiplayer not working after the migration is related to the Microsoft family account.

I cant play multiplayer and cant acces settings for xbox account. I just get redirected to support page always. I’ve tried diiferent browsers and devices. Same thing happens if i try to go to xbox account settings via microsoft account. What am i supposed to do? My account is a childs account so does it have to do with that?

I migrated my mojang account to a microsoft one, and now I cannot access multiplayer.

A lot of articles online says to go to the microsoft privacy page, but whatever link I click always redirect me to the support page, even the “Privacy & online safety” button on the support page. (I am logged in on the xbox website)

Thus those who are playing Minecraft with Microsoft child account will have to get the multiplayer access from their Microsoft family account holder.

Those with access to the privacy and parental control settings in their Microsoft family account can grant the required access to child accounts by heading here.

After logging in, select More Options then Xbox settings which will open the Xbox account. From there, head over to the Privacy & online safety settings and select the Microsoft child account for which multiplayer access is required.

Once done, select the Xbox One/Windows 10 online security tab and grant the multiplayer access to the selected Microsoft child account.

However, if the Microsoft child account is not added in a Microsoft family account then it can be done by heading here. After adding the child account, proceed with the aforementioned steps to enable multiplayer access.

So, if you are unable to play multiplayer games in Minecraft after migrating to Microsoft account, be sure to try this workaround to get or provide multiplayer access.
