Minecraft is one of the most popular sandbox games available on the internet. Developed by Mojang Studios, it was released back in 2011 and is one of the best-selling video games of all time.

In the last few years, Minecraft’s popularity has skyrocketed thanks to the gameplay mechanics that lets users build in a procedurally generated 3D world with virtually endless terrain.

But as is the case with any online game, Minecraft players do encounter some bugs and issues from time to time, such as the recently reported ‘java.io.ioexception’ error or the one where players are unable to join their friend’s world.

Unable to play Minecraft: Java Edition using Launcher on Game Pass for PC

While these issues were acknowledged by Mojang, it looks like another bug has surfaced. According to reports (1,2,3,4,5), Minecraft Java Edition players are facing trouble using the Launcher on Game Pass for PC.

Many say they have already purchased the game but it shows up as if they don’t own the game.

Some say they get an error saying ‘Minecraft Launcher is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Store and try again.’

Generic resolutions such as reinstalling the game, resetting the Microsoft Store app, and logging in and out of Microsoft accounts do not seem to work at the moment.

Hello! Yesterday I purchased Minecraft from the minecraft.net website on this new PC I got for Christmas. It told me to download the Minecraft Launcher so I can play it, but the download for that was stuck at about 5% for the whole day. When i closed the window, it came up with an error message of: “Minecraft Launcher is not currently available in your account. Check you are signed into the Store and try again.” with an error code. But this is puzzling since i bought it from Minecraft’s website, and not the Microsoft Store. For the record I am signed into the store, if that helps. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Whenever I try to open the launcher it gives me this: Minecraft Launcher is currently not available in your account. Make sure you are signed in to the Store and try again. Here’s the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001. I’m signed in. I literally just bought the game. The app shows up in my app list, and yet when I look up the code, it’s asking if I bought the game??? Is there anything I can do here, or just I just have to wait for something in the backend to update?

As it turns out, the issue is already on the list of Known Issues for Game Launches for January 2022.

Minecraft purchase not processing

But this is not the only issue troubling Minecraft players. Many players say are having problem purchasing Minecraft: Java Edition. It is a really serious issue since the bug is preventing new players from experienceing Minecraft.

I bought minecraft on my pc for my PC and it is saying that I still need to buy it even though I was already fully charged for it and the launcher was downloaded. When I open the game it only gives me the demo option and the ability to purchase it again. What happened? I am not paying 60 bucks for the game.

I want to get Minecraft Java edition, but when I go to the website and put in my card information, it says that there is an error with the purchase. I have my browser updated, put the Card info back in multiple times, used different browsers, and much more, but nothing seems to work. Are there any work arounds? Or am I screwed?

Thankfully, Mojang Studios has acknowledged the issue where people are unable to purchase Minecraft and said it is under investigation.
