Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

Meta Quest 2 is a virtual reality headset that lets you explore new worlds, play games, watch movies, and more without being connected to a PC or a phone.

It is the second generation of the Meta Quest line, formerly known as Oculus Quest, and it offers several improvements over its predecessor.

Players on Meta Quest were able to play a selection of 60 Oculus Go games with a drop-down menu in the app library. However, with the Meta Quest 2, devs decided to drop backward compatibility.

Although there were a few unofficial ways to sideload Oculus Go games on the Meta Quest 2, these methods were not officially supported. This made it difficult for players who wanted to enjoy these games on their VR headset.

The new PTC v51 update has changed all of that. Now, players can access the supported Oculus Go games on their Quest 2 units directly from the App Library.

This news has been well received by the Meta Quest 2 gaming community (1,2).

This is such a great news! Hope it stays that way and that more Go games will be added to compatibility list. Nice

Sweet! There were some really good games for the Go, that I enjoyed playing on the Q1, will have to check that out and see if I still have access to them now on the Q2.

Make sure that you update Meta Quest 2 to PTC v51 update as v50 or older doesn’t supports Oculus Go games and you won’t be able to play them.
