Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is the latest title in the decades-old Rainbow Six series.

Unlike its predecessor that pits players against one another, Rainbow Six Extraction is a PvE game where players must complete certain objectives such as extracting materials and collecting samples in an alien-infested environment.

And as is the case with every other recent Ubisoft title, freezing, crashing, and launching issues already seem to be affecting the gameplay experience for some.

Having said that, Rainbow Six Extraction players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that they are getting stuck in the Airlock when moving between sub-zones.

Many say they tried waiting for a few minutes in the Airlock but had to eventually abandon the match and disconnect. Others say that they are stuck in one place and are unable to move or interact with anything.

But leaving the game results in getting an abandon penalty which causes players to lose XP, lose the operator, and get banned from matchmaking for a few minutes.

Just had an amazing run somehow solo queueing with randoms on Malestrom protocol. Got to the last airlock between zone 8 and 9 only to get the same airlock bug from last week (used to happen between zones 3 and 4). Are Ubi aware of this as I’ve not seen any official recognition of this? And does anyone have a solution to the problem in the meantime? As it stands, you have to quit to menu/alt f4 both of which give you a 5 minute sanction and your operator is MIA meaning that you just wasted 30+ mins of Maelstrom and then have to rescue your operator (probably via easy mode singleplayer to save time) and then a run or two to heal the operator back up.

Got stuck inside the airlock at the pad to the next area. I could look around and type bur couldn’t interact with anything or fire my weapon. When I looked at the floor the camera seemed to slightly move outside my character because I could see part of the model. Anyway I had to leave and my operator is now MIA and I have a six minute matchmaking penalty because I’ve been randomly disconnected 2 other times and been penalised for it. GG Ubisoft.

Thankfully, Rainbow Six Extraction developers have acknowledged the issue and said that the bug causing players to get stuck in the airlock is currently under investigation. Unfortunately, there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

Hey, folks! Thanks for all these reports of getting stuck in the air lock between sub-zones. I’m sorry to hear you’ve all faced this issue – that sounds very frustrating, given that you are left with no choice but to abandon the mission and are left with an MIA operator! I can confirm that our teams are currently investigating this, and all the reports here in the forum thread have been shared with them.

We hope Ubisoft finds a solution in the coming days since the bug is making the gameplay unplayable for some. When they do, we will let you know so stay tuned.
