Madden NFL 24 players are reporting that the player editor (creation center) is quite tedious, limited and bugged. Some are also allegedly frustrated by slow menus and a cumbersome user interface (UI) in the game.
Players took to Reddit to share their grievances through the official Madden subreddit.
Bugged player editor in Madden 24 frustrating players
The player editor is one the main ways for players to add a personal touch to the game. So it’s no surprise that the half-baked feature has led many to complain about it online.
The customization is fucking terrible & makes no sense how bad it is. Why can’t I put wrist bands or a hand warmer on my QB??? It’s trying to be like 2Ks career mode and is failing miserably. The draft combine is really a waste of time too. This game only makes me appreciate NBA 2K more. (Source)
I want to start with EA has made great strides in gameplay this year. It feels great. But the conversion to the “Superstar” method of character customization that was in The Yard for a few years and now is everywhere is going to ruin this game for all the people who create custom draft classes and rosters. According to user reports (1, 2, 3), the custom player creator, aka the creation center, is very “disorganized” which makes it very tedious and frustrating to create a character.
Players have gone so far as to claim that even the menu itself feels restricted and occasionally glitchy. Most of the face presets don’t correlate with each other, making it very hard to make a satisfying character.
This makes the already monotonous process even more frustrating.
Custom players are essential for Franchise mode and Super Star mode in Madden 24. Therefore, everyone wants EA to fix it as soon as possible.
Madden 24 laggy menus and UI
Apart from the buggy player editor, reports also indicate that Madden 24 menus and UI are notably laggy and slow. Understandably, this is making some players frustrated.
The menus UI is trash, but aside from that, they run so slow and sluggish. (Source)
The menus and UI are unbelievably slow and non responsive, player models still look awful, and the game is ridiculously laggy (especially post-play cutscenes) (Source)
Menus or UI in well optimized games don’t feel laggy or slow unless and until the hardware can’t keep up with the requirements. But that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
So far there hasn’t been any official statement from the developers regarding the issue.
We’ll keep track of the situation and post an update if and when there are any further developments on the matter.
