LOTR: Heroes of Middle-earth 'Frodo equip ring mission not progressing' & 'soft lock bug with guild tutorial' officially acknowledged

Developed by Capital Games, The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is an upcoming free-to-play game for both Android and iOS devices. It is based on The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit books.

The beta version of the game was released on May 10. However, as is the case with beta releases, players are facing some issues.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), multiple LOTR: Heroes of Middle-earth players are facing difficulties completing the Frodo equip ring mission.

This is because they get moved back to the tutorial screen when they attempt to craft a ring for Frodo. And afterwards, they are unable to make use of any in-game element since clicking on the buttons does nothing.

On the other hand, for some, the game freezes as soon as they enter Frodo’s character screen after completing the battle and winning the ring. To make matters worse, restarting the smartphone resets the mission progress.

Stuck at tutorial after finishing the first hard note and receiving 15 shards to unlock, while the tutorial is telling me to get 1 more ring for frodo by auto’ing a level.

Those affected have tried restarting and reinstalling the game but to no avail. However, the troubles of LOTR: Heroes of Middle-earth don’t end up here.

Some gamers (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) are also unable to join the guild campaign due to a bug. Apparently, one needs to do a guild battle on reaching level 10, for which they need to be a guild member.

However, players are not getting the option to join a guild and instead they get ‘Reach player level 10 and join a guild’ error message. Notably, the game gets soft locked and pressing any button simply gives them the error.

Due to this, gamers get stuck in a loop and are unable to proceed ahead with the gameplay.

It is repeatedly ask for guild campaign where I haven’t even joined a guild and now stuck in this loop for EVER.

Those affected have even provided their name in the guild lock thread and have updated their copy of the game but could not get rid of the problem.

Luckily, the Heroes of Middle Earth support team has officially acknowledged these issues and is currently working on fixing them. They further said that players could expect some forced updates soon.

In the meantime, we’ll continuously monitor the issues where Frodo equip ring mission is not progressing and the guild tutorial soft locking the game and update the article accordingly.
