LG is no longer an active player in the Android scene and with the fateful announcement earlier this year, there was a lot of confusion surrounding the fate of existing LG devices.

Luckily, the company committed to seeing these devices through to their planned end-of-life, complete with regular software updates and planned Android version upgrades.

Already, we’ve seen the company updating many of its eligible devices to Android 11 (LG UX 10) and you can learn more about that in our dedicated LG Android 11 tracker.

Today, LG is looking to add one more device to that list in form of the LG Q92 5G. Recently, we saw reports that this update would come in Q2 of 2021, followed by the release of the kernel source code back in March.

In a post published on Korea’s official LG website, the company goes on to talk about some of the features coming to the LG Q92 5G following this update to Android 11.

Some of these features include the normal Android 11 features we’ve seen with other devices such as categorized notifications, chat head bubbles, new permissions manager, and more.

These have been mated to a few LG-exclusive features such as new options for Notch management, new camera features such as a built-in QR scanner, and new lock-screen notification styles.

LG says this Android 11 update will be rolling out to users of the LG Q92 5G as an OTA over the next few days starting with South Korea. It is unclear when users of this device in other regions will get updated but our educated guess is, it shouldn’t be too long.
