LEGO Fortnite is a stellar example of modern game design, but some minor hiccups are tarnishing its otherwise brilliant finish. Among these, the latest hot topic is the questionable intelligence of the in-game NPCs or Villagers, who are unable to open doors in LEGO Fortnite.

LEGO Fortnite villagers can’t open doors

LEGO Fortnite has been garnering fantastic reviews worldwide. The fusion of Fortnite characters with LEGO’s classic blocky aesthetic has captivated players of all ages across the globe.

While the game’s vast scale and possibilities rival legendary crafting games such as Minecraft and Terraria, it does have some small issues that are causing frustration among gamers.

According to recent reports, the villagers or the worker NPCs of the game are unable to perform simple tasks such as opening doors or traveling from their house to their designated workplace.

Villagers are non-playable characters (NPCs) that can be recruited to assist players with tasks like gathering resources, crafting materials, and defending the village from monsters.

Presently, there are 21 known villagers in LEGO Fortnite, including Aura, Beef Boss, Blackheart, Blue Squire, Brite Bomber, Calamity, Carl Reef, Cuddle Team Leader, and more. Each villager has a specific skill set, and players can assign them tasks based on their abilities.

However, due to the issue, many villagers are practically becoming useless. Previously, some players had also shared the issue of trees growing inside houses. There are also some other issues with villagers working in Metal Smelters.

How to fix the villagers?

In response to the increasing reports, the official support team promptly stepped in to share some updates on the situation.

In a reply to one of the reports, the support team shared that they are aware of the situation and are currently investigating it for further information.

Until they issue an official fix, players can follow these basic steps to potentially avoid the issue:

  • Machine Placement: Ensure that the machines villagers use are positioned correctly, with the accessible side facing an open walkway. Placing buildings against walls or obstacles can block access. If necessary, reposition the machines or buildings to make sure villagers can access them.
  • Distance from Workstations: If a villager’s workstation is too far away, they may not make the lengthy trip to start tasks. To fix this, construct houses near work buildings.
  • Obstacles: Remove any obstacles that impede the path to work areas, as this can prevent villagers from reaching their intended destinations.
