Is Samsung Galaxy S23 FE draining battery or overheating like Galaxy S22? Here are some early comments

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE will be available to purchase in the U.S. starting October 26. It was announced earlier this month as the successor to the Galaxy S21 FE. But there are some reservations about the Galaxy S23 FE potentially suffering from battery life and overheating issues plaguing the Galaxy S22.

The Galaxy S22 series is powered by the Exynos 2200 or Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. These are the same chipsets used in the Galaxy S23 FE depending on where you buy it. Social media has plenty of accounts from Galaxy S22 owners experiencing horrible battery draining issues, something that’s concerning potential S23 FE buyers. Galaxy S22 battery life issues won’t just go away despite the many software updates, including One UI 6 beta.

The Galaxy S23 FE will not be available in the U.S. until later this month. But it started shipping in India from last week. So we already have early reviews and comments regarding battery life and overheating issues.

Before we get carried away, it’s worth noting that it often takes time before a device settles to a user’s habits. It also takes some time to know the actual battery life of a new phone. But from early reviews, it seems Samsung optimized the Exynos 2200 chipset to improve Galaxy S23 FE battery life and reduce overheating issues seen in the Galaxy S22 series.

On his Tech with Benefits channel on YouTube, SamMobile’s Daniel Scuteri is convinced Samsung went back to the drawing board and addressed the battery life issues plaguing the Exynos 2200 chipset. After spending several days with the phone, he couldn’t fault the battery’s longevity, which is quite a positive for Samsung. These same sentiments have also been echoed by the popular YouTube channel Beebom as well as across X, formerly Twitter.

For now, there’s little info about the Snapdragon variant’s battery performance. But we can only hope these potential optimizations come across the board. We will keep you updated once more battery life reviews start coming in.
