Apple’s latest flagship smartphones, the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, redefine excellence in mobile technology.

These devices offer an unrivaled user experience that caters to the demands of tech enthusiasts and professionals alike. However, this doesn’t mean that the iPhone 14 lineup is immune to bugs.

For instance, we recently covered the issues where photos shot with the iPhone 14 Pro’s camera were overprocessed and iPhone 14 Pro Max users would get a loud text notification when on phone call.

Now, another issue has surfaced.

iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max ‘AOD or Dynamic Island screen burn in’ issue

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max owners are experiencing a screen burn in issue around the AOD (Always on Display) or Dynamic Island areas of the display panel.

But for others, it happens even when AOD is not in use. The issue is also affecting users who very rarely use apps in the Dynamic Island.

It has also been mentioned that the burn in is only visible when seen against a light-colored background.

However, users are surprised to be witnessing such a problem, as they had assumed that the dim display in AOD would prevent this from happening.

One of those affected says that the burn in is only visible on gray backgrounds or when they are in gloomy rooms with low lighting.

Another adds that a transparent line appears on their 3-month old iPhone 14 Pro Max’s display when the brightness is quite low.

I have iPhone 14 Pro Max for about 1,5 month now and my screen around dynamic island is burnt. I have no idea how did it happen. I’am not using AOD (always on display) and I very barely used apps in dynamic island…

Some have even tried the common troubleshooting steps like turning off their smartphone for a few hours, restarting it, and factory resetting the device but all in vain.

Unfortunately, Apple has not yet officially responded to the matter. But we will keep monitoring this issue and update the article with the latest developments.
