Developed and published by Crytek, the same studio that brought us the legendary Crysis, Hunt: Showdown is a multiplayer FPS game. It was released in 2018 and received positively by both users and critiques.

Although Hunt: Showdown is a competitive PvP game, it has heavy PvE elements involved. The game involves players taking down mythical monsters to claim bounties and survive and reach an extraction point.

Having said that, the developers frequently update the game with new content so it feels fresh and engaging. But sometimes these updates break the game to a point where it almost becomes unplayable.

With that being said, Hunt: Showdown players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) that the textures are really bad after the 1.7 update. User reports suggest that the texture quality seems to be downgraded and now lacks a lot of details.

Although the update brought support for 60 FPS on the Xbox, many are frustrated since the game looks really bad. You can see for yourself in the image below how the textures look.

60 FPS is awesome but have the devs acknowledged the bug with the texture streaming? I’m on Series X and all my texture resolutions are very low. I know a lot of people are experiencing this as well. Does this happen on PS5? Anyone find any work around a to fix? I think I’ll try toggling Xbox resolutions and or doing a full reinstall to see if that helps any.

@HuntShowdown i just got the update for my series X..it’s a mess. Textures won’t load at all. Bugs and glitches everywhere. Menu pop up hidden behind other menus. Hunters look half loaded with no detail. And when I aim it stays aimed in now? I love Hunt please what’s going on??

Apart from the textures issue, many Hunt: Showdown players have also reported (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that the performance took a hit after the latest update causing FPS drops and lag.

Some also complained about server rubberbanding and hit reg issues. It looks like the Hunt: Showdown 1.7 update has made the game completely unplayable thanks to low-res textures paired with server lag and FPS drops.

Been loving the 60fps update. Totally changed the game. Literally feels brand new and playing it again after a break in 60fps has been a completely different experience. However, when I get into gunfights with another player on console, immediately after I shoot some sort of lag pulls me around like I’m on rails and the higher frame rate makes this way more noticeable and feel extra bad. Does anyone else experience this? Is there a fix for it coming?

This new hotfix is making the game lag, i have a GTX 1070 and i could usually play without any stuttering or lag but after the new hotfix i lag almost all the time especially when people are fighting across the map. Anyone else getting this issue? another glitch is that when i try to open someones stats after a game it doesnt open, the wheel appears for a split second and nothing.

With Crytek yet to acknowledge the texture and lag issues with Hunt: Showdown after patch 1.7, it is still unclear how long players will have to suffer before they are fixed.

Right now, players can just hope that the developers are aware of how bad of a lag fest Hunt: Showdown is and work on a fix as soon as possible. If and when they do, we will update this article to reflect the same so stay tuned.
