Hunt: Showdown is a popular FPS action game developed by Crytek that was released in 2019. It stood out among similar titles for its dark setting based on horror and nightmarish creatures.

But, a recurring problem that Hunt: Showdown players have complained about is related to the behavior of the hit marker or hit box (the areas where you have to hit to cause damage to the enemy).

Apparently, a delayed shooting issue that some players are experiencing is causing erratic results on the hit marker. So, it is an issue that can seriously affect the competitive segment.

Hunt: Showdown delayed shooting or hit marker issues

According to multiple reports, there is a delayed shooting issue in Hunt: Showdown that directly impacts gameplay, as hitting the hit marker becomes much more difficult (1, 2, 3).

The foregoing results in the occurrence of so-called ‘ghost shots’. That is, shots that do not deal damage to opponents even though they have clearly hit them.

Shot animation delayed

Dear community,
sometimes when I aim with iron sight and shoot, the firing is delayed and end up explode like half second later, resulting in a missed shot.

I experience this kind of problem, sadly, a lot of times, basically one per game. The issue appears randomly with all kind of weapons.

It’s not ping, I barely go over 30 ping.

Please help me I’m getting mad!

I am sick of drastically increased traid kills. Before changes to hit-registration it was really rare to see a trade kill, especially in close combat, but now it is very common. All solo and quickplay players suffer from this bullsh!t.
Make it that way, like in other modern online shooters:
Whoever’s shots go first to the server i.e. has less ping + has better reaction gets the kill, shots from his opponent are not registered, because he has worse ping and/or has slow reaction time.

Crytek – “Hey, it looks like you guys are having a really good match”
Here, let’s make the last team you fight in the match be from across the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ world with 1500 ping so that none of your shots connect and they curve their bullets around buildings. Have fun!

A problem that has been present for at least 1 year

It should be noted that this issue is not exactly new. In fact, there are similar reports going back 1 year. So, some players have had to deal with it for quite some time (1, 2).

However, for some players, these issues have just started to appear or have intensified since they installed the most recent game update.

At the moment, there’s still no official acknowledgement from Crytek, but we will update this article with all new pertinent information once related developments emerge.
