Here’s the crux of this story in video form:

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 4, 2021) follows:

Founded in 2007 and owned by The Walt Disney Company, Hulu is a popular streaming service that has more than 42.8 million users in the United States.

It also offers one of the cheapest plans when compared to other competitors in the niche such as Netflix and Disney+. Hulu is also the first streaming service that has won the Emmy award for Outstanding Drama Series, The Handmaid’s Tale.

The streaming service focuses on recent TV shows, making it more of a cable alternative as opposed to a Netflix rival. Naturally, like other streaming services, users do encounter some bugs and issues every once in a while.

Recently, users reported that they were unable to hear any audio on multiple shows while others complained of a “Connection Disconnected” error on some Vizio devices.

Having said that, it looks like Hulu subscribers are haunted by a Beyonce & Jay-Z ad for Tiffany & Co. A lot of people are complaining that Hulu is playing the commercial every few minutes.

Seems like the ad pops up every break, which is really frustrating for many. While using commercials to generate additional revenue is acceptable, people say that they do not want to watch the same ad.

Yo @hulu @hulu_support @TiffanyAndCo My wife and I are just trying to watch Bachelor in Paradise, but every single commercial is the Jay Z/ Beyonce commercial on repeat. Is this a new style of torture or is there a glitch in the matrix? I just want different commercials dang.

I’m watching an episode of 20/20 on @Hulu and I’ve now seen the moon river @Beyonce commercial a total of 15 times. I now hate @TiffanyAndCo great job advertising dept if that was your goal. You did it! Thumbs up. #boycotttiffanyandco

After several users complained that they were forced to watch the Beyonce & Jay-Z ad commercial over and over for hours, Hulu finally acknowledged the issue and said that a fix is coming soon. However, they did not share any ETA.

We hope Hulu diversifies its ad pool and plays various ads during breaks. Recently, we asked users if Hulu and other paid streaming services should do away with ads on their premium plans, so make sure you share your opinion by voting in the poll.

Update 1 (October 06, 2021)

09:45 am (IST): In a recent response to a user’s complaint regarding the issue, support claimed that they still don’t have any updates to share on the situation. This means that it may take a while before the matter is addressed.

Apologies for the ongoing frustration! While we don’t have any updates to share just yet, we want to assure you we’ve got all hands on deck investigating this further. We’ll make sure your feedback is shared with the proper teams here. (Source)

Unfortunately, there isn’t much that users can do about the ads at present. So we’ll have to wait and see how long it takes for Hulu to cut down on the Tiffany & Co. ads.

Update 2 (October 07, 2021)

11:12 am (IST): Now, Hulu is asking users to DM them with their Hulu-associated email, billing ZIP, and the content they were watching for ‘their investigation’.
