Be it Android Q or Pie-based latest EMUI 9.1’s progress on different phones, Chinese phone maker Huawei’s transparency is praiseworthy. The OEMs is uninterruptedly sharing relevant info through different social media platforms, to ensure users get the latest status regarding concerned updates.

Recently, Huawei even revealed precise HiCare registration dates for grabbing EMUI 9.1 on phones like Huawei P20 Lite, P20 Pro, Y9 Prime 2019, Y9 (2019), Honor 10 Lite & Honor 20i.

Among the enlisted devices, only Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) – the OEM’s first ever pop-up selfie camera phone – is the one waiting, as EMUI 9.1 has already landed on rest of the phones. Y9 Prime (2019) was launched in India few days back, and is scheduled for its first sale which starts in a few hours.

As for tech-specs, Y9 Prime (2019) is a mid-ranger fueled with Hisilicon Kirin 710F SoC, and comes with Android Pie layered with EMUI 9.0. The phone comes in 4GB RAM+ 64GB/128GB storage variants, and sports a triple camera setup at the back with 16MP + 8MP + 2MP sensors.

As stated in the beginning, based on the EMUI 9.1 upgrade plan, HiCare registration on Y9 Prime (2019) was to start on August 02. Looks like that happened in time, as now we’re getting reports the EMUI 9.1 update is arriving on the devices at least in the Indian region.

The confirmation about the update’s roll out cames straight from the horse’s mouth. Huawei India while reverting back to a users on Twitter revealed that EMUI 9.1 has already been pushed to Y9 Prime 2019 devices.

Thank you for your interest in EMUI 9.1, we would like to inform you that we have already started rolling out the new Android Pie update with EMUI 9.1 in batches.

Considering, it’s EMUI 9.1, it should brings along the usual goodies like GPU Turbo 3.0, EROFS support, Huawei Vlog, Huawei Share OneHop along side a revamped UI. Sadly, we haven’t yet got hands on the complete changelog. But we’re in a look out for it.

As is usually the case with updates, they are pushed out in batches, and EMUI 9.1 being no exception will follow this unofficial norm. Therefore, EMUI 9.1 may take time to make it to all Y9 Prime 2019 units. So hang in tight, as you may get to see the update notification sometime soon.
