Recently, Elon Musk changed Twitter’s logo from the blue bird to an ‘X.’ This made some users unhappy when they saw the new icon after their app updated automatically.

Since then, users have been searching for ways to bring back or avoid changing the beloved blue bird logo (like disabling Twitter app updates). Fortunately, there are ways to revert to the familiar blue bird logo.

However, some users, who have already updated their iOS app to the latest version and seeing the new logo are looking for ways to bring back the old one.

If the X icon has already started showing up for on iOS, then fret not, you’ll still be able to change it to blue bird logo.

How to retain old Twitter logo using Shortcuts app on iOS

That said, users will be able to retain the old Twitter logo on iOS by creating a shortcut. Below we have mentioned the steps on how to retain old Twitter logo using Shortcuts app.

  • Open Shortcuts app on iOS.
  • Tap on the ‘+’ icon at the top right corner.
  • Select ‘Add action’ and tap on ‘Open app’> Select ‘X’ app.
  • Press the downward facing arrow at the top of the screen, next to the shortcut name.
  • Go for the ‘Add to home screen’ option, and then chose the photo for the shortcut (This means, you’ll have to add a picture of the old blue bird logo).
  • Now X app icon is gone and you’ll see the old blue bird.
