The new and upcoming multiplayer shooter The Finals has been under criticism by players as the game reportedly has been crashing very frequently. Even with the piling reports, the devs have been silent, but worry not. We have shared some potential workarounds below.

The Finals crashing issue

The Finals is a first-person shooter game built on Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). Players have reported various crashes and errors while playing the game.

These crashes can be caused by a variety of factors, including GPU driver issues, memory problems, and system compatibility.

However, following the Christmas update, there have been rising complaints that the game is crashing due to a missing script in UE5. This crash message or the error code shows a MISSING_ANGELSCRIPT_CALLSTACK prompt, making the community very confident that the issue lies in the game code.

Other than this, some reports claim that the game is stuttering very frequently following the update. According to the reports, even with adequately powerful and competent hardware systems, players are witnessing these issues.

Workarounds

Even with piling reports, the devs haven’t shared any official statement or acknowledgment of the issue, but the community took things into their own hands and shared some potential workarounds.

According to one player, turning off the XMP in the BIOS setting could be a potential and effective solution for the crashing issue. To turn off XMP, players need to access their motherboard’s BIOS settings and disable the XMP profile.

Other than this, there are some other workarounds. Common solutions to these crashes include updating GPU drivers, unlinking Steam accounts from Embark, restarting the game or platform, and adjusting graphics settings.

Additionally, troubleshooting steps such as checking for out-of-memory issues, debugging GPU crashes, and examining crash reports can help identify and resolve the root cause of the crashes.

If the players are experiencing crashes while playing The Finals, it is recommended to raise the issue with the official support team of the devs at Embark Studios.
