Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

Microsoft has been busy enhancing its Edge browser with a dedicated work experience for businesses. As a part of this effort, they also changed the Microsoft Edge icon and added a briefcase symbol to it.

This change has been implemented in the business profile. So if you are browsing for your business-related work, you might see a briefcase icon on the Microsoft Edge logo.

However, not all users are on board with this change and want it removed. Here are some reports for reference:

Not sure which is worse… the briefcase icon or that so many people are forced to use Edge at work 😆 (Source)

The Edge browser’s new look, featuring the addition of a briefcase to the icon, has garnered attention – but not in the way Microsoft might have hoped.

Many users who have encountered the new briefcase icon aren’t thrilled with the design shift. While some find the new icon distracting, others prefer a simpler and cleaner appearance.

For those who aren’t fans of the new briefcase icon and want the previous logo back, there’s good news. You can opt to disable it.

How to remove or disable Microsoft Edge briefcase icon

By following the steps mentioned below, you’ll be able to revert back to familiar Edge icon without the added briefcase.

  • Open Microsoft Edge and click on the three-dot menu in the top-right corner to access the Settings.
  • Scroll down and select ‘Appearance’.
  • Look for the option ‘Show briefcase icon on work profiles’ and toggle it off.
