Horizon Forbidden West is one of the latest exclusive games for PlayStation consoles. It is the sequel to the existing Horizon Zero Dawn launched in 2017.

Horizon Forbidden West offers a huge world to explore that mixes technology with nature. It has been receiving positive reviews that highlight its gameplay mechanics and graphics since its launch.

However, some Horizon Forbidden West players are facing visual issues. The most recent reports are related to the Firegleam icon on map and a black screen that suddenly appears for a few seconds.

Horizon Forbidden Firegleam icon stays on map

A Firegleam is a red crystal that you will find in different areas of the Horizon Forbidden West map. Basically it is an obstacle that you must overcome in order to access other areas, receive treasures and do other things.

You can find the Firegleam crystals by markings on the map. Once you find them, you can destroy them using a tool that you will get at a certain point in the game. Destroying the crystal will remove the mark from the map.

However, some Horizon Forbidden West players are facing an issue where the marking of Firegleam crystals stays on the map after destroying them (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11).

Firegleam Map locations not disappearing?

There’s multiple firegleam locations that I’ve broken through but they won’t disappear from my map. Is this happening to anyone else, it’s very annoying lol.

This can be problematic when trying to remember which crystals you have destroyed and which are actually left on the map.

Firegleam staying on the map after its cleared is confusing

As the title says. After clearing a batch of fire gleam and getting the treasure, the icon stays on the map and does not turn green or say “completed”. It makes it impossible to tell which ones have been cleared out and which haven’t without just remembering.

The Guerrilla Games team is already aware of the issue and is investigating. However, there is no ETA for a fix yet.

Horizon Forbidden West black screen issues

Some Horizon Forbidden West players are also experiencing a graphical issue where the screen goes black for a few seconds (1, 2, 3).

Anyone else on ps4 getting a random black screen that lasts for a second or two?

This has happened to me three or four times now during regular gameplay. A black screen that lasts for a second or two, audio is still there. The last it happened after completing a quest and was just wandering around afterwards. I think it also happened once while Aloy was climbing up a mountain.

The black screen glitch can occur randomly at any time while moving around the Horizon Forbidden West map.

Random black screens in HFW (not on saves)

This is the first open world game where it randomly has a black screen for a quick second whenever you’re running in the world. It only happens occasionally which I can understand is the game loading the rest of the map? Still, the original did not have that issue, so seeing it here is really surprising.

Guerrilla Games is also aware of this and other graphical issues. The company indicates that they are a priority, but there is no ETA for a fix yet.
