New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 30, 2021) follows:

Halo fans across the globe have rushed to check out the Halo Infinite multiplayer technical preview that dropped a few hours ago for Xbox or PC.

Unfortunately, while fans expected that they’d be checking out the new Halo Infinite multiplayer technical preview today, they’ve not managed to access the official Halo Waypoint website or get into the Xbox Insider Hub app as it’s down or not working and gets stuck at ‘Pending’.

This outage has put a stop to players from accessing the game since it’s only available to those who sign up for the Halo Insider program. Here are a few reports from disgruntled fans for reference:

I got the email for instructions but halo waypoint doesn’t work, so I went to xbox insider hub and saw halo infinite flight, still pending- where do we go after that? (Source)

Now waiting for the Insider thing to get done pending to download “Halo: Infinite”. I just got off of work. I may not get to play “Halo: Infinite” tonight because I gotta eat & go to work at 1pm tomorrow. I work at FedEx Grounds(warehouse) & Fridays for me are busy. (Source)

Microsoft fix your shit! I did not wait 27hrs for a series x console during black friday, just to gaze at a pending button for the Halo Infinite insider app to download!? (Source)

According to reports, the Waypoint portal and the Xbox Insider Hub app have been down or inaccessible for hours and those who tried to download Halo Infinite aren’t seeing any progress as it’s stuck at ‘Pending’.

It was clear from the start that the heavy traffic is a result of the services not being accessible. Moreover, Halo support confirmed the same with a tweet roughly an hour ago.

The site has begun loading, however, it’s extremely slow and almost unusable due to the delayed response.

Halo Community Director — Brian Jarrard — also took to Twitter a few minutes ago to post a quick update regarding the situation. Here’s what he had to say.

Quick update – Halo Waypoint is still experiencing issues and the team is doing their best to remedy the situation. Emails were sent a while ago but take a LONG time to all go out. Xbox Insider is stuck “pending” for a lot of ppl (myself included). Xbox team is working on it! (Source)

While there’s no ETA for a fix, we can expect the problem to be resolved at the earliest. As usual, we’ll post an update if and when there are any further developments.

Update 1 (July 30)

12:15 pm (IST): Xbox support, as well as the community director have confirmed that the service has begun working for many people.

Update 3 (September 24)

The Halo Infinite Multiplayer Tech Preview build dropped today and fans around the world have jumped on their systems to try out the new game.

Unfortunately, several users have been facing issues over the past few hours as they’re unable to access the game.

Some claim that the website throws an error saying “service unavailable”, some say that the game does not load, and others claim that they haven’t received their invites for Halo Infinite.

hey i think the site is down, it keeps saying “service unavailable” (Source)

Every time I try to do weapon drills or training the game just loads and loads. Is this a server issue or something else? (Source)

Help! I got the email but there is no message on my halo waypoint account 🙁 (Source)

At the time of this update, we’ve not come across any official from Halo support confirming either of the problems.

That said, granted the high volume of players rushing to play the game, this is something that could have been foreseen and should be fixed soon.

Update 4 (September 25)

Halo support has confirmed that those who had trouble with their Steams keys should get new ones in their Halo Insider profiles soon.
