Halo Infinite has been available since mid-November 2021 as the latest installment in the successful action game franchise.

Halo Infinite is available for Xbox consoles (current and previous generation) and for Windows OS devices. The game has received multiple updates with bug fixes in the last few weeks.

Currently, the developers are working on the Halo Infinite Season 2 Update which will arrive in May. The update is expected to bring many improvements and changes to make Halo Infinite the game it was always meant to be.

However, there is one glitch in particular that, while unintentional, has become a ‘favorite feature’ for many players. More specifically, it is the ‘Tank gun glitch’.

But, recent hints point to the Halo Infinite Season 2 update to fix the glitch. So, many players are against the decision.

What is the Halo Infinite Tank gun glitch??

Halo Infinite Tank gun glitch features the Scorpion Tank Gun. For those who don’t know, the scorpion is literally the cannon of one of the tanks available in Halo Infinite.

That said, there is a curious glitch that allows Halo Infinite players to carry the Scorpion Tank Gun on their character’s shoulders. In this way, they can use it as a common gun.

Of course, the Tank gun glitch makes Halo Infinite players have at their disposal a powerful rocket launcher as the most powerful weapon in the game.

It’s worth pointing out that the glitch can only be used in PvE mode (single-player). That is, there is no risk that it will break the online matches.

Halo Infinite Tank gun is now a ‘player’s favorite feature’

Since the glitch does not impact Halo Infinite multiplayer mode, many players have positively received it as a fun feature when playing solo.

But, recently a 343i employee confirmed that the Halo Infinite Season 2 update will bring a fix for the popular Tank gun glitch.

So, the possible removal is being poorly received by the players. Many feel that the company should focus on fixing bugs that impact online mode instead of single-player mode glitches that don’t hurt anyone.

I’m all for fixing glitches that hurt players, but stuff like this hurts nobody to leave it in. Campaign is PvE, you’re not gonna hurt another player’s experience by using the glitch. It’s just fun for you, so who cares?? And even if we bring co-op into the topic, just talk with your friends about it and if one of you is like nah then just don’t use it of your own free will.

This is just an unnecessary patch that only stands to take something fun away from players because it wasn’t intended fun.

This is a dumb thing to fix. It wasn’t hurting anyone and just provided some goofy op fun. Yes it trivialized my SLASO run but you don’t even get anything other than an achievement for it anyway.

No one is being harmed by the tank gun. Except the Banished.

Halo Infinite players want the Tank gun glitch to stay somehow

Many Halo Infinite players agree that they want the Tank gun glitch to stay in the game in some way. Some suggest that keeping it as an Easter egg could be adequate.

I hope they add it as some Easter egg later, like the scarab gun.

Fly underneath the map for 30 minutes while being shot at and then enter the phone number for 343’s head offices into wall tiles to enter a rap battle with caboose for his unique gun, “sheila’s retribution”

At the moment, players can only wait for new official pronouncements related to the matter. We will update this story as new events arise regarding the Halo Infinite Tank gun glitch.
