[Updated] Halo Infinite support acknowledges issue with invalid or already used Steam keys, fix in the works

Halo Infinite is an upcoming title in the much-beloved Halo series. It is developed by 343 industries and published by Xbox Game Studios.

While the game was revealed in E3 2018 and was planned to come out last year, Microsoft revised the release date to December of 2021.

Now, 343 games are inviting players so they can enjoy playing Halo Infinite multiplayer game mode. If you want to get into Halo Test Flight, you will need to have an Xbox Gamertag and already be a Halo insider.

In case you managed to enroll before the last date, you might have received an email that confirms your admission to the Halo Infinite flight test.

Having said that, Steam players are now saying that the key they received for the Halo Infinite flight test has already been used.

This is really weird since only a handful of gamers have received codes, which are tied to their hardware. Moreover, a lot of NVIDIA 3070Ti and 3080 Ti owners said they haven’t received the code at all.

I received an invite to season 8 of he Halo MCC flight but it says my Steam code is “already in use” when I try to enter it is it possible my steam code was stolen or otherwise accessed by someone else ? that’s what it says when I try to enter it on steam.

Got the same problem here. I received a key but can’t use it as it said “Already used by an other account”.
I already sent a ticket to support but for the moment still open with no answer. Like on Halo Support twitter account. No one give info about that.

Fortunately, it looks like 343 Games is aware of the Halo Infinite Steam key issue. They said players who are affected by the invalid Steam Key issue will be receiving a new one shortly.

In the meantime, the developers said that the invite to the tech preview can be checked either by visiting the Waypoint Beta website, send them a message, or by looking at the “My Flight” section at the bottom of the page.

When players receive their Halo Infinite Steam key codes, we will update this article so stay tuned for updates.

10:44 am (IST): Halo has officially acknowledged the invalid or Steam keys issue saying that the players should soon receive a new Steam key in their Halo Insider profiles, fixing the problem in question.
