Halo Infinite Season 2 update arrived recently. The new season brought some changes, improvements, and a lot of new content to unlock.

However, the update also brought some issues. For instance, there is currently a ‘gun jamming’ effect that is frustrating a lot of players.

The Halo Infinite Season 2 update also brought another unexpected issue where the Season 1 Battle Pass 4th challenge slot is locked if Season 2 Battle Pass isn’t purchased (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10).

If you don’t buy Halo Infinite Season 2 Battle Pass, the Season 1 4th challenge slot will be locked

Many players report their Season 1 4th challenge slot being locked after the arrival of the Season 2 update. Apparently, the only way to unlock the slot again is to buy the new Battle Pass.

This has been considered by many as an unfair strategy to force players to pay for the new season, blocking content for which they have already paid in the past (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6).

Was it like this in s1? I bought that BP immediately so I don’t know. This game continues to astound me in its anti-player practices. Rather than feel incentivized to buy the BP, I feel actively discouraged from buying it when 343 treats us like this.

Question for people who bought the Season 1 Battle Pass

The Season 1 Battle Pass allowed you to activate 4 challenges at once instead of 3.

Now that a new season has begun, do you still access to your 4 challenge slots? Or do you have to buy the Season 2 pass to regain them?

Players suggest eliminating the challenge slots system

Apparently, there are many who have disliked the Halo Infinite challenge slots system for a long time.

So, there are several players who feel that it would be better if 343 Industries simply removes the Halo Infinite challenge slots system.

Have to agree. The challenge system to progress is by far the worst. Especially when you get specific challenges that can literally take hours to get the right gamemodes for.

Not to mention a timed 2x exp is a horrendous idea when challgenes are the main form of exp gain.

Player complaints about the matter reached the ears of 343 Industries. A Community Manager from the company has confirmed that the Season 1 Battle Pass 4th challenge slot lock is actually a bug, not an expected behavior.

The team has seen the feedback regarding the availability of the fourth challenge slot in Halo Infinite. We’re working to address it for purchasers of each Premium Battle Pass.
