Google is taking advantage of the ongoing CES 2024 event to heavily promote Android and its current focus on AI through multiple ads, even taking over the huge Las Vegas Sphere. Curiously, the company has focused mainly on its mobile OS and AI-based developments, leaving the Pixel brand a little aside in this campaign.
Google has spared no effort or expense to give Android even more visibility (if that’s possible) during CES 2024. The company started the campaign a few days before the event by ‘thematizing’ the exterior of the Las Vegas Monorail around Android. The slogan used was ‘The new world of Android has arrived‘, perhaps referring to the new era of Android where AI will be fundamental.
The company also ‘took over’ some screens in Las Vegas to advertise Android in a big way, this time making clear the importance they give to their focus on the AI-related developments for the present and future of the OS.

L'effervescence s'accentue d'heure en heure avant l'ouverture du CES 2024 dans cette incroyable ville de Las Vegas.
Google semble vouloir mettre le paquet sur l'IA.

While several of the recently introduced AI-powered features have been exclusive to Google Pixel devices, Android users from other brands also benefit from new developments through the company’s services. For instance, Google Messages is one of those services that have been getting more ‘love’ lately, so they took advantage of the opportunity to give it visibility as well.

That said, possibly Google’s most striking ad during CES 2024 is the one you can see below this paragraph, where the company ‘takes over’ the impressive Las Vegas Sphere by covering it entirely with an Android-inspired theme. Of course, the company’s new focus on AI was also quite explicit here.

Some attendees at the event published their photos showing how impressive the Las Vegas Sphere looks while surrounded by the Android ad, even during the day under the sun. Dieter Bohn, part of the Google team, posted on X (Twitter) the pic below:
Perhaps this time Google left aside the ads about the Pixel brand a little since CES 2024 is the place to present new products and innovative developments beyond promoting existing devices. Therefore, the continued development of AI-powered features on Android seems to better fit the occasion.
