Since updating to the latest beta Google wallet is pretty much useless, I can’t pay for anything as wallet says my device doesn’t meet security standards and has disabled contactless. Anyone else having this ?

Some users also get an error message when opening the Wallet saying that the ‘Device doesn’t meet security requirements’. This has disrupted the seamless experience that contactless payments are meant to provide.

People are now using methods like force stopping and clearing the cache of Google Play Services to resolve this issue. However, this solution hasn’t really seemed to help everyone (1,2,3).

The bug seems widespread as a number of people have also complained about it on the Google Issue Tracker (1,2,3,4,5).

Issue acknowledged

Fortunately, this issue has been escalated to product and engineering team for further investigation.
