We also highlighted an issue where the charging notification would appear delayed after the March update.

Reports indicate that most of the users are facing this issue after the March update. One of the users claims that the watch simply won’t charge and remain stuck on a certain percentage even when charged overnight.

Even after rebooting and restarting the watch several times, nothing happens. It is incredibly frustrating for users as without the wearable property charging, it remains useless.

Apart from this, it has also been reported that the watch is charging at a very slow speed for some (1,2,3). This has also been happening after the March update.

Luckily, this issue has been escalated for further investigation on the Google bug tracker.

Potential reason

According to some Redditors, Google has calibrated or modified the battery percentage. And this is possibly why the Pixel Watch charges at a slower rate.

It is also believed that Google changed the charging settings because of the cases related to overheating due to fast charging.

Google probably changed it because fast charging is hot.

Moreover, there are also some reports that suggest that the Watch is not charging fully (1,2). In that case, those affected can try using a Type-C charger.

We hope that Google looks into these reports and comes up with a permanent resolution at the earliest.

We’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article accordingly.
