Google Pixel phones account for 3% of smartphone shipments in North America

Despite the dominance of Apple and Samsung, Google’s Pixel smartphones are steadily making inroads in North America. Fresh data from Counterpoint Research indicates that Google Pixel devices accounted for 3% of all smartphone shipments in the region during the final quarter of 2023.

This represents a significant boost for Google’s hardware ambitions. Pixel’s market share in the region has steadily risen from just 1% in 2021. This encouraging trend aligns with reports that Google shipped an impressive 10 million Pixel phones globally throughout 2023, a record-breaking achievement for the company.

The Pixel’s success isn’t limited to North America. It’s making a splash in other markets too, notably Japan, where it’s enjoying positive reception. While Apple continues to dominate North America with a massive 62% market share, Samsung follows at 18%, with Motorola rounding out the top three at 8%.
