Google’s March Feature Drop is packed with exciting upgrades for Pixel owners. From enhanced Instagram sharing to advanced call features and productivity improvements, this update has something for everyone. Let’s dive into the key highlights:

Instagram integration gets even better

Pixel users who are avid Instagram fans will love the new features designed specifically for this social media platform. You can now upload your stunning Ultra HDR photos directly to Instagram, showcasing enhanced colors and dynamic lighting. Furthermore, you can add another dimension to your Instagram Reels with the ability to share high-quality 10-bit HDR video content. Note that announcement’s footnotes mentions the following regarding 10-bit HDR video content on Instagram:

Requires Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro or Pixel Fold phone, and the Instagram app.

Smarter call screening and audio control

The March Feature Drop makes handling calls more convenient than ever. Now, if a caller is silent, tap the new “hello” chip in Pixel’s Call Screen. Google Assistant will gently prompt the caller to speak, ensuring you don’t miss important information. In case you’re momentarily unavailable when screening a call, let Assistant inform the caller with timed responses like “I’ll be right there,” giving you time to prepare.

You can also easily manage previously paired Bluetooth devices directly from your Connected Devices settings with Fast Pair. There’s also a new Pixel volume slider that offers a visual upgrade for better control.

More features and convenience

Enjoy these additional capabilities included in the March Feature Drop:

  • Circle to Search (Pixel 7 and 7 Pro): Easily search content within specific apps directly from your home screen, adding even more precision to your searches.
  • Partial screen sharing: When casting or recording calls, choose to share only specific apps for enhanced privacy.
  • Doc markup enhancements: Conveniently add handwritten notes to Google Docs with your finger or a stylus.
