Every single year, Google releases a new flavor of Android which has significant changes and improvements over the previous one.

The latest Android version to land on several eligible devices later this year is Android 12, which is a major update in years since Android Lollipop.

Android 12 introduces a whole new level of experience where its design has been completely revamped from the ground up.

Apart from cosmetic changes, there are a lot of improvements under the hood as well such as better memory management, performance improvements, and strict privacy controls.

But, before a major update is rolled out in masses, it has to be rigorously tested for bugs, flaws, and inconsistencies for a problem-free stable rollout. This is where beta versions come into play.

The latest beta update to land on Google Pixel devices is Android 12 Beta 3 which fixes many previously known issues but also brings along some new ones. Among those is related to unresponsiveness of the home screen when unlocking the phone.

Many beta testers are facing the same thing, just that there are several ways to replicate the issue.

It occurred for me a couple of times when pressing the new wifi toggle from the lockscreen. Maybe there’s more luck recreating the issue that way.

It’s for the good that this major flaw has been figured out in the beta phase of Android 12 itself. As later, it would’ve caused an uproar among the masses during the stable rollout.
