It is February 2020 and several devices are already receiving the February 2020 patch update. Interestingly, the first batch came from Samsung, and Google’s own devices as well as Essential Phone have failed to secure the pole position.

In Google’s camp, the Pixel 4/4 XL, Pixel 3/3 XL, Pixel 3a/3a XL and the Pixel 2 family are all getting this new patch. This update brings various fixes to various devices in the Google family of phones.

Other than the bump in the security patch level, these updates bring a few improvements to these Google devices. These fixes include some for an NFC bug, Assistant crushing, and camera enhancements among many others.

These changes coming to these Google devices can be summed up in the following table.

Little is known about the changes coming in this February patch for the Essential Phone. However, if previous updates are anything to go by, this could only be a monthly security patch update. This one should be available for Telus and unlocked units.
