Google Pixel 9 Pro leak shows off potential design in a 360-degree video and 5K renders

The Google Pixel 9 series will be launched during the second half of this year, but leaks have started to emerge many months before. A fresh report has revealed the potential revamped design of the Pixel 9 Pro through renders and a 360-degree video, suggesting that Google could make a total commitment to flat edges, in line with the trend that other big brands are following with their flagships.

With the Pixel 6 series, Google introduced the recognizable horizontal camera module that extends from edge to edge in the rear of these devices. Each new generation received refinements, but the basis was always the same. However, the alleged new design of the Pixel 9 Pro could change this noticeably, as the camera module would not extend from edge to edge but would instead be shaped like an ‘elongated pill’ that does not touch the side edges.

The flat design could also extend to the edges of the Pixel 9 Pro’s chassis, which differs noticeably from what we’ve seen so far on Pixel phones. Moving on to the front area, the bezels around the screen remain symmetrical and appear even smaller than in the current generation, while the company also retains a punch-hole for the front camera sensor.

The new design language seems to give a more ‘industrial’ appearance to the device, which is also helped by the black color in which it is shown. The renders and video were created by OnLeaks and published by My Smart Price, two sources that have proven to be reliable, so it is quite likely that the final design of the Pixel 9 Pro will be very similar to what we are seeing now.

In addition to the potential new design, the report adds that the Pixel 9 Pro will have dimensions of 162.7 x 76.6 x 8.5 mm (12.0 mm in the camera bump area). In comparison, the current Pixel 8 Pro dimensions are 162.6 x 76.5 x 8.8. Finally, the report suggests that the notable size of the main camera is due to the fact that Google will include a variable aperture for even more versatility.
